It's that time of the year– annual physical time. I know it's not as fun as holidays, or vacations but it's an important part of keeping you healthy enough to enjoy those things. So, here's what you need to know for your next physical exam:
- Make some time: A proper physical exam will take more than 15 minutes. Be sure to schedule for that particular visit and make some time in your schedule so that you don't feel pressured about time.
- Be prepared for bloodwork: No one likes surprises with needles. If you know that's an issue, let us know as you're scheduling so that we can give you enough to time to get comfortable. Our phlebotomists are exceptional!
- Come prepared to be examined: Perhaps coming directly from the gym or rigorous sweating isn't the best idea if it'll make you uncomfortable or self conscious in a closed room with your doctor. As an experienced physician with over 30 years of practice under my belt, nothing phases me– I promise you that I've seen it ALL. Still, often when patients have to be examined they can feel uneasy about particularly sweaty, etc. If you tend get sheepish when you're feeling less than fresh, bear that in mind when you schedule your visit. Either way, you'll receive compassionate care at Trinity Family Medical Practice and I look forward to caring for you.
